Hagen-Renaker Era: 1955

Millesan Drews licensed her Pixies to Hagen-Renaker in 1955. This relationship was not long lived, but I don't have any insight into why the two parted ways. Drews was probably just one of many artists of the day who collaborated with another studio. Hagen-Renaker has been a leader in ceramics since 1945 and is still in business today. They are well known for their horse figurines and animal miniatures. The Pixies were fired in two separate pieces, upper and lower body, and assembled at the end of the process. This allowed more poses to be achieved as efficiently as possible.

After 1955, Drews licensed her Pixies to National Pottery Company (Napco) and the process was the same as Hagen-Renaker's, but these Pixies were made in Japan. They are much more common and I can see differences in quality.  Both versions had gold buttons and shoes and are difficult to tell apart.
